Tasha Miller studied fine arts at St. Martins School of Art and Design, and drama and movement at Dartington College of Arts. After graduating from the Alexander Technique Teacher Training Course in Totnes, Devon in 1983 she pioneered the Alexander Technique the iPAC way in Cardiff, setting up the Cardiff Consultancy for the Alexander Technique and establishing the program at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama.
Tasha has an honours degree in psychology and a Diploma in Health Studies from the Open University and is planning in the near future to study for a Masters Degree in Counselling Psychology. She continues to develop and refine her innovative teaching model which she applies to singing and piano playing and has recently written a book about the Alexander Technique with David Langstroth, Freedom in Thought and Action, which is available through Nous Publishing. Tasha is a member of STAT and CANSTAT.
David Langstroth was born in Halifax and studied Music at McGill University and in London. In 1987 he joined the BBC National Orchestra of Wales as a double bassist and at the same time began studying the Alexander Technique the iPAC way with Tasha. David has contributed articles to many of the forums and journals in the Alexander world and has co-written with Tasha the entry for "The Oxford Companion to the Body".
David holds a Master's Degree in Education, a Master of Business Administration, a Bachelor of Music Degree, and a Diploma in Computing. He continues his musical career in Halifax and has long term plans to study for a Doctorate on the application of the iPAC model in music education. David is an independent Alexander iPAC teacher and is not a certified member of STAT, CANSTAT or any other society.
Both Tasha and David have pursued extensive continuing professional development over many years, studying with first generation teachers Walter and Dilys Carrington, Peggy Williams, Marjory Barlow and Tony Spawforth as well as with prominent teachers of later generations.
